Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Let’s kick off the evening by looking back at the three biggest stories from Thursday, September 17, 2026.
- Tom Aspinall quits podcast, abruptly quits social media after UFC title drama: Since the eye injury, Aspinall has suffered a ridiculous amount of poisoning from fans and peers alike – a good move.
- Ilia Topuria stays on the attack with Justin Gaethje and manager: ‘Fk you’re still standing’: Saying “f—k you” to Ali Abdelaziz is a surefire way to make me more of an Ilia fan.
- Muhammad Mokaev upset with UFC offer: “They wasted two years of my life”: It’s rare for the UFC to use its dominance and leverage over a fighter to please fight fans in general. According to the quotes, Mokaev still has a bad attitude…
Insomnia
Talking trash and throwing Gable Steveson’s past accusations in his face, Sean Sharaf has already exceeded my personal expectations for this fight.
This answer is going to be difficult. I would choose Justin Gaethje over Max Holloway again in a heartbeat…
GSP’s sex podcast could headline MMAmania 2026.
Dustin Poirier paid tribute to Michael Chandler in this clip, but despite his best efforts, he can’t help but hate his former nemesis.
Standard MMA behavior:
King Green is 40 years old and still competing with the best in the world. It doesn’t happen without real skill!
Losene Keita seems to have a big chance.
Slips, rips and KO clips
I really can’t believe it worked.
Always funny when a fighter visibly lands a punch and still shakes his head “no” afterwards.
Am I wrong to think we’re seeing more knockouts in flyweight these days? It seems more common.
Random land
The new cat just landed and it’s only three pounds!
