Thursday Night Football is headlined by the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks (3-2) heading to Mile High for a duel with the Denver Broncos (3-2). This could have been the Super Bowl game last year if Bo Nix did not suffer any injury before the AFC Championship.
Denver is dealing with a blight of injuries in the secondary. Star CB Pat Surtain (ankle) and Discuss the content (ankle) are out, plus CB Riley Moss (ribs) is also questionable, so the Broncos could be down to both starting cornerbacks and a safety. That’s bad news for the Broncos as the offense hasn’t been cooking. First-year offensive coordinator Davis Webb has struggled with Denver as the Broncos rank 26th in points per game (19.4), 30th in yards per game (269.0) and 29th in punts per game (57.4).
Denver is coming off a 23-17 win over the now 0-5 Chargers. The Broncos averaged 3.9 yards per play and were 1-of-12 on third downs against Los Angeles. Denver’s defense forced three turnovers Bo NixSeason low 123 yards and Broncos 224 yards as offense.
Seattle is coming off a 32-29 loss to San Francisco in a game with seven total turnovers! The Seahawks led 26-21 in the fourth quarter, but were outscored 11-3 in the fourth quarter to lose. Seattle returns in a short week as they from Seattle to Denver. The Seahawks will try to improve on another poor performance from Sam Darnold. After the loss to the Commanders, Darnold has 168 and 195 yards passing over those two games with three touchdowns and three interceptions. Its main objective, Jaxon Smith-Njigba catch for 102 of Darnold’s 195 yards against the 49ers and could be in for a big night against a depleted Denver secondary.
Speaking of depletion, the Seahawks are getting depleted at running back with him The Jadarian Prize (shoulder / chest) and Zach Charbonnet (knee) as outside and George Holland not 100 percent. Seattle’s defense is looking for a spot on the rebound after allowing an uncharacteristic 33, 23 and 32 points in the last three games. Let’s see if they get that comeback in Denver!
Let’s dive into the numbers and see if we can’t find an extra sweat or two.

Expert picks and predictions for Seahawks at Broncos
Vaughn Dalzell (@VmoneySports) likes Sam Darnold to go over 30.5 pass attempts:
“So far the only game that Sam Darnold went for 30-plus pass attempts was against Washington, and it was a pass game and shootout scenario for the Seahawks. While this game should be more of a scrimmage than a shootout, I like the odds that Darnold and Seattle choose to throw more. Denver is down CB Pat SurtainS Discuss the contentand possibly CB Riley Moss. This is a positive game for Darnold, who has struggled in the last two games with 168 and 195 yards on 13-of-22 and 18-of-29 passing. Darnold needs a bounce-back game, and Denver may have become a good spot with all the injuries to Seattle’s secondary and running backs (Charbonnet and Price are out).

Quarterback matchup for Seahawks at Broncos
· Seattle: Sam Darnold – After returning from an injury in Week 1, Sam Darnold has been shaky for the Seahawks. Darnold ranks 29th in QBR and has thrown seven touchdowns to five interceptions over the past three games. He has been sacked eight times over the past two games and has thrown two picks at the Commanders and against the 49ers. In back-to-back weeks, Darnold has thrown for 200 yards (168, 195) and completed 60% of his passes (31/51). The Seahawks running game doesn’t look great with the injuries sustained Zach Charbonnet AND The Jadarian Prize out, plus George Holland is not 100 percent. Darnold will have an added responsibility right now, and fortunately for him, Denver will be without two or three defensive backs Thursday night.
· Denver: Bo Nix – After starting the season with a shutout in three straight games, Bo Nix has a clean sheet in the last two games. In those two at the 49ers and Chargers, Nix completed 59.4% of his passes for 337 yards and two touchdowns. Nix is coming off a season-low 123 yards on 16 completions against the Chargers. It’s the second game of the year under 150 passing yards, which is concerning with the first-year OC Davis Webb. In play-action and when won, Nix ranks 31st and 36th in the NFL this year in completion percentage, plus he’s 33rd in completion percentage against man coverage. Not the start Nix and Webb wanted.
