Austin Creed and Kofi have enjoyed new life in AEW after years in WWE, a move Samoa Joe believes will allow them to showcase their full repertoire.
Joe knows a thing or two about dealing with WWE’s AEW, with the veteran star having considerable success in Tony Khan’s promotion, including: reigned as world champion twice. He recently spoke “The Takedown on SI:” where he claimed that AEW fans will get a chance to see The New Level take their wrestling to another level and show things they have never seen from Creed and Kofi.
“I think if anything, you’ll start to see the type of range, the variety and the real flexibility they have stylistically,” Joe said. “You know, I think for many years you can see a more subdued version of what they were in the past (in WWE), and I think now you’re going to see them reach their full potential.”
They don’t bother with the new level adjusting to their new environment in AEWclaiming they can thrive in any environment. They explained that their new tag team name reflects their desire to a new level while bringing a higher level of competition to AEW.
Creed and Kofi were part of a team that helped revive tag team wrestling in WWE for years alongside the likes of The Usos. The duo could recreate that success in AEW, where they would face teams like FTR, Cage and Cope, Motor City Machine Guns, and potentially The Young Bucks, who could be their biggest rivals in AEW. Coffey admitted to the competition Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks was one of the main reasons he and Creed joined AEW.
