Today’s Live! “TNA Influence” TNA World Tag Team Champion Ryan Nemeth has punched his ticket as the fifth competitor to head to Bound for Glory next month as part of his six-way battle for the vacated X-Division Championship.
Tonight’s qualifier started with Nemeth taking on K.J. Orso (Fuego Del Sol) with a corner kick. Unmasked in the evening’s match, Orso turned on a nice scoop and hit just one count. On the outside, Nemeth hit a neckbreaker, sliding himself and Orso back into the ring, only for a one count. Later in the game, Nemeth survives Orso’s driver. Stopping the match, Nemeth sent Orso into the ring post before hitting a big Hollywood Ending to secure the finish. Nemeth is now joining Fabian Eichner, KC Navarro, Rich Swann, and Cedric Alexander (via rematch stipulation) in Tampa, Florida to determine who will be the new X-Division Champion.
The upcoming six-way match came after Leon Slater, who won the X-Division Championship for the second time in his career over Alexander, decided to seek the “option C” point during the blockade in August, which allows any X-Division champion to vacate the title for a shot at the TNA World Championship. Slater will face reigning world champion Nick Nemeth in the main event at Bound for Glory.
Bound for Glory will air live on pay-per-view and TNA+ on Sunday, October 11th.
