Few golf experiences rival it Shadow Creek in Las Vegasand if anyone really knows what it is, it might be Ryan Moore.
The former amateur star and five-time PGA Tour winner joined this week’s episode GOLF’s Subpar Podcast to discuss what he has done since he put away the clubs, his amateur careerand even a tee time with Arnold Palmerbut Shadow Creek, of course, came too.
Moore knows the place well. He played at UNLV and has been a longtime resident of Las Vegas. He was also a brand ambassador for MGM Resorts International, which owns the course.
“Even though I play three times in a week, every time I drive in the gate I’m like, how is this place even” Moore said. “It’s just unbelievable. It’s just a special place.”
Moore said he was recently at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, where he was discussing some of the best golf experiences with friends. It made him think about how special Shadow Creek is since he believes he belongs on that upper level.
“Shadow Creek is top five on the planet,” he said. “And I’ve been to many beautiful places, very good golf courses, but it’s such a unique golf experience, it’s so unique anywhere else. In addition to being a great golf course and in great shape, every hole is like a small planet that you’re on.
“There’s just something about it. It’s an incredible place. Even though I get to play a lot, I still pinch myself every time I get to go out there and play.”
The luxury Tom Fazio design offers a stunning golf course, plus unmatched VIP service (including a private limousine that transports you to and from the course).
And the good news for you, dear reader? You can also play. Although it will cost you more than $1,000. But hey, when in Vegas?
