Zuffa Boxing’s biggest card to date is now official after Ryan Garcia and Conor Benn weighed in for their welterweight title bout. The 12-round headliner sees World Boxing Council welterweight champion Garcia seek a defense against Benn. Both men made weight without issue, despite speculation that Benn would struggle to hit his mark. Every other fighter on the card also made weight, including Zuffa Cruiserweight Champion Jai Opetaia, who will take on Noel Mikaelian.
Garcia (25-2) opens the fight by defeating Mario Barrios for the WBC title. This bounce back performance came after ‘King Ry’ failed to dethrone Rolando Romero for the WBA belt last year. Garcia officially weighed in at 145.5 pounds for the defending champion.
Benn (26-1), whose only career loss came last year to Chris Eubank Jr., is looking to cause an upset. However, the British superstar won the rematch and then defeated Regis Prograis in his last outing. Benn weighed 146 pounds at the point.
The event Zuffa Boxing Benn vs. Garcia streams live on Paramount+. The main card begins at 8:00 PM ET/5:00 PM PT.
