Ray Phoenix defeated Ricky Saints to retain the AAA Cruiserweight Championship on WWE SmackDown.
The Saints controlled the match early on, taking breaks to build their Absolute before returning to wear down the champion. He continued to take action to the outside of the ring, tossing Fenix into the barricade before bringing him back through the ropes to wear him down to the mat.
Phoenix came back, starting with a hurricanrana to send the Saints back into the ring over the top rope, going to the other corner and hitting a moonsault, and delivering the Adios Amigo to send the Saints to the outside of the ring. Phoenix followed up with another moonsault to the outside, bringing Sains back into the ring and a crossbody for a two count.
Saints caught Phoenix with a Revolution DDT and went for a cover herself, getting another two count before rolling up for another nearfall. Fenix caught himself on the ropes with an Irish whip and fired back with a spinning heel kick, telegraphing an armbreaker attempt to Rochambeau.
From there, Fenix delivered the Mexican Musclebuster and secured the win. He will now go on to defend the title in four ways on Sunday AAA TripleMania 34 Showfacing Nathan Fraser, Jack Cartwile and Minnie Viking.
