WWE star Raquel Rodriguez never thought John Cena would go from her teenage crush to the inspiration for her rise to fame. about in his interview “Insight with Chris Van Vliet” that the reigning Women’s Intercontinental Champion recalls when this innocent admiration for the former Never Seen 17 World Champion began and what drew him to her.
“I think it started back in high school when I saw John Cena live and I loved him,” Rodriguez said. “Then I bought the inflatable arms… I remember hearing that because I’m from a border town, which is a very small town. So I remember he went to Whataburger in Hidalgo and I’m like he likes Whataburger too. Oh my god, he’s the best!’
Although it happened last year, Rodriguez remembers every minute he shared the ring with Cena Survivor Series: as part of his “Farewell Tour”. In his latest appearance at the Premium Live Event (PLE), “La Ruda” stormed the ring and delivered his signature Tejana Bomb, helping his teammate “Dirty” Dominic Mysterio regain the Men’s Intercontinental Championship in his hometown of San Diego, California. While it was a big moment for their Doomsday stable to reclaim a piece of gold, it was a full-circle moment for Rodriguez himself.
“But then I started to really grow and learn from John Cena and see how he works and his amazing trajectory with WWE and everything he’s been able to accomplish. And then when I was put on Judgment Day and suddenly we were in a story with him and Dominic and having a real moment with John Cena at PLE, it was all very exciting.
