Queen Aminata defeated Maya World at AEW Dynamite to become the new number one contender to the TBS Championship.
The world was returning to action for the first time since being sidelined in Septembercompeting for a rematch for the title she lost to Persephone at All In in August. Aminata was one of the three losers along with Hya and Dani Luna against Persephone for the title at WrestleDream. Persephone and Britt Baker sat in on commentary for the fight.
The match saw a back-and-forth between the rivals, with Aminata hitting the harder of the pair while Ashkhar used his speed advantage to moderate his opponent’s power.
However, it was to no avail for the former champion as she was forced to roll out of the ring to avoid the onslaught. Aminata followed and used a steel chair to jump into the challenger, pulling him back into the ring with his head against the ropes and securing the pinfall.
After the match, Persephone and Baker looked to enter the ring and ambush the former’s new challenger. Hyan ran to the ring to join Aminata and World to see them off without any attack.
Aminata will now challenge Persephone for the title at next week’s AEW Dynamite. during Fright Night.
