September 11: Elegancia Arabia Trading of Qatar has won the Mechanical Package for the construction of the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium in the city of Qiddiya, Saudi Arabia, destined to be one of the most spectacular football stadiums in the world.
The contract is worth SAR 829 million ($221 million).
The stadium is one of Saudi Arabia’s flagship mega-projects and will host the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
Located in the city of Qiddiya, about 40 minutes from Riyadh, the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium is a futuristic, multi-purpose sports and entertainment venue located on top of the 200-meter-high Tuwaiq cliff.
The capacity of the stadium will be around 47,000 seats for football, with a total event capacity of over 60,900. It is expected to attract 7.6 million visitors annually and host more than 60 football matches each year.
The air-conditioned venue will be the first fully integrated stadium in the world to combine a retractable roof, pitch and LED wall. The development will also include more than 50,000 square meters of retail, dining and entertainment space. The venue will integrate advanced energy efficiency systems supplied by Elegancia Electromechanical Services, supporting Saudi Arabia’s commitment to sustainable mega-developments.
The mechanical package is Elegancia Electromechanical Services’ largest project in Saudi Arabia. Elegancia Electromechanical Services will deliver the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Public Health, Fire Suppression and Building Management System (BMS) packages. The project is scheduled to run between September 2026 and May 2030 and is expected to involve around 3,000 Elegancia employees at various stages of implementation.
