The Wallaroos have welcomed back winger Maya Stewart for the upcoming home leg of the WXV Global Series, where they will host Scotland on consecutive weekends.
Stewart has fully recovered from the Achilles injury that kept her out of the away leg of the series, her return knocking Piper Flynn out of the 30-man squad, while Hera-Barb Malcolm Heke joins the injury list with a knee complaint and Tia Hinds has been marked unavailable on personal leave.
Scotland skipped Australia in the world rankings for the first time in October 2024, although the Wallaroos have maintained their perfect record in the rivalry, including a 30-10 win just two weeks ago.
“We’re looking forward to hosting Scotland on home soil and in front of our gold-clad fans next week as part of a quadruple tie in Sydney,” said Director of Women’s High Performance Tim Walsh.
“During our recent tour of Europe, we had some success in aspects of our game, but we lacked the consistency to put on a performance that we would be really proud of.
“Having played and beaten Scotland recently, our mutual understanding has grown. We will have to be far better than we were in Edinburgh to get the result we want.”
“Maya Stewart is coming back for us and brings a wealth of experience around the world.”
