The NFL plans to move forward with Sunday’s game between the Steelers and the Saints in Paris.
Asked about the situation by reporters on Friday, President Trump expressed doubts about the decision.
“Well, you worry about it“It’s not – I think it probably looks like tomorrow is going to be a bad day in France. So you worry about that. I would have said the NFL could probably postpone that game, if you want to know the truth. Because France is really in trouble.”
A postponement isn’t really possible, given the NFL schedule. The move would make the most sense, with the game moving to one of London’s two NFL-ready stadiums. (As best we can tell, both Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Wembley Stadium are available.)
For now, the NFL’s stance is “the show must go on.” Even if the show could end up being something much different than what the NFL envisioned.
