The Pistons signed and refused further Dawson Garcia and Bashir Jihada member of Spotrac Keith Smith tweets.
The moves are designed to get Garcia and Jihad to join their NBA G League affiliate, the Motor City Cruise.
Garcia was on the Pistons camp roster last fall, but was refused until opening night. He went undrafted last year out of Minnesota before joining the Pistons organization. He played 17 games for the Cruisers last season, averaging 6.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 16.1 minutes per game.
During his five-year college career, Garcia also played for Marquette and North Carolina.
Jihad played for the Pistons’ Summer League team this past July, playing in four games. Jihad went undrafted last year out of Arizona State and played for the College Park Skyhawks, Atlanta’s affiliate, last season. He played in 48 games, averaging 11.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 21.3 minutes per game.
Jihad also spent three seasons with Ball State in his college career before joining the Sun Devils for one season.
Signature Appendix 10 contracts will give Garcia and Jihad the opportunity to earn up to $91,000 in bonuses on top of their G League base salaries if they spend at least 60 days on the Cruiser.
