Tottenham defender Pedro Porro is expected to be sidelined for around a month after suffering a hamstring injury.
The 27-year-old has withdrawn from the Spain squad for the current international break and is unlikely to be available when Roberto De Zerbi’s side return to Premier League action against Manchester United on October 10.
Leek could also be missing Tottenham home meeting with Coventry City on October 19, although there is confidence he will recover in time to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge five days later.
The right-back was sent off during Saturday’s 3-2 defeat at the home of Aston Villa in the top flight after going down in the 17th minute at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Archie Gray replaced him for the rest of the game.
Porro had already missed Tottenham’s games against Everton and Liverpool this month and will now face another spell on the sidelines.
Porro retires from the Spanish national team
Porro had initially been appointed to Luis de la Fuente Spain called up for the international break, but injury forced him to withdraw.
Sporting CP full-back Ivan Fresneda was subsequently called up as a substitute.
Djed Spence left Tottenham in the summer to join Inter, leaving Gray as the main alternative to Porro in the role.
