The New England Patriots are set to place wide receiver AJ Brown on injured reserve.
Brown made his debut with the Patriots on Wednesday following his offseason trade to the Philadelphia Eagles, when New England suffered a Lose 13-10 to the Seattle Seahawks in a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl.
The 29-year-old suffered a high ankle sprain in that game and will now miss at least the next four weeks.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Brown will be placed on IR, though the move has not yet been made official.
Brown, who had 26 yards on three catches against Seattle, will miss a tough slate of games for the reigning AFC champions.
The Patriots host the Pittsburgh Steelers next week before hitting the road to face the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills. They then welcome the Las Vegas Raiders to Foxborough, with the first game in which Brown could return against the New York Jets on October 18.
