Paddy Pimblett says the UFC has not approached him about the Ilia Topuria fight
Pimblett claims he has not been approached by the UFC about a possible Topuria fight, but is open to stepping up next for the former two-division champion. Arman Tsarukyan, Mauricio Ruffy, Charles Oliveira and current champion Justin Gaethje.
“I’d love to hit (Ilia) in the head, boy, but we’ll have to wait and see. Nobody talked to me about that,” Pimblett told Eze Obas. “(I could fight) Arman, Gaethje, Luffy, Charles. There are a lot of names. If I fight this year, hopefully it will be in December.”
Pimblett and Topuria have a long-standing rivalry sparked by British comments about Georgia, the latter’s birthplace. What’s more, Pimblett calls Topuria the “sanitizer boy” after he threw a bottle of hand sanitizer at the fighters in London’s 2022 hotel. Since then, the two have also feuded in press conferences and publicly mocked each other over Gaethje’s title loss.
