Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss passes for 336 yards, runs for 60 in 41-38 win in opener

Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, who could prove to be among the most polarizing prospects in the 2027 NFL draft, is off to a hot start in his final season of college football.

Chambliss completed 21 of 36 passes for 336 yards, with three touchdowns and an interception, and also added nine carries for 60 yards and a rushing touchdown as No. 9 Ole Miss beat No. 24 Louisville 41-38.

A year ago, Chambliss was a little-known transfer from Division II Ferris State who wasn’t even expected to start at Ole Miss, but he became more than just a starter. He became one of the best players in the country, leading Ole Miss to the College Football Playoff.

So why is Chambliss polarizing as a prospect? He’s on the smaller side (listed at 6-foot-1, maybe shorter) and is already 24 years old and in his sixth year of college football, so he may have less upside and room for growth than some of the younger, less experienced quarterback projects.

Will Chambliss be a first round pick? Pick of the Day Three? There’s a wide range of possible outcomes, but he could help his case by continuing to play like he did against Louisville.
