Jean Silva reminded featherweights today (Saturday, September 12, 2026) just how good he is. UFC 4 night LIVE on Paramount+ from the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona as the Brazilian contender stopped eager challenger Jose Miguel Delgado by submission (rear naked choke) in the third round.
Although Silva was a huge betting favorite, with Delgado taking the fight on short notice, you wouldn’t have known it. Silva didn’t even throw a punch in the first few minutes of the first round, allowing Delgado to steer as he saw fit. Delgado even scored a knockdown in the first round that stole all the momentum going into the second round.
Then Silva bumped and finally started to let go of his hands. Delgado was constantly on the back foot and unable to land the same punches he had earlier in the fight. This allowed Silva to succeed with his strikes and do damage along the way. Silva continued his recovery in the third round when he clipped Delgado with a perfect right hand along the fence. Moments later, Silva was on Delgado’s back and quickly put one hand under his chin to squeeze and force the tap.
