NFL Power Rankings: Cardinals soar, while Packers tumble

After a week of football there is a lot of gut feeling and understanding that comes from working out power levels for the NFL. We all know Week 1 can be arbitrary, with some teams seeing the season opener as a universal tone-setter for the rest of the year, while others view it as an extension of the preseason, allowing them to sleepwalk into the new year.

of The Los Angeles Rams were the consensus No. 1 team in the preseason rankings. But they’ve already suffered a pair of worrisome losses to start the season. After making some strange travel plans to Australia, the Rams are actually sleeping. When they beat the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1. Four spots will fall after the opening week. We’re still upset about the Rams overall, but given their ugly start against the 49ers, Combined with Myles Garrett’s knee surgery He is a little nervous about their potential in the near future.

When it comes to the big ups and downs, we’ve had quite a bit of activity in the league overall.

It remains to be seen if this win is a sign of Mike LaFleur changing his cards overnight, or if the Chargers are the worst football team we thought. Either way, Arizona was able to make a statement with a win to open the season and looked extremely good in all phases of the game.

Jacoby Brissett has played fantastic football, Trey McBride is proving to be the best pass rusher in football, and the offense has found ways to effectively engage rookie Jeremiah Love. Meanwhile, on the defensive side, we’ve seen big games from several players and this team has looked better than the cellar-dwelling tanker.

The story for the Vikings right now is twofold: What they’re doing at QB is running back. Kyler Murray’s terrible shockAlso how amazing their defense is. Brian Flores is a wizard, and on Sunday he got the Vikes to scare the Packers in the divisional home opener and flip the script when it comes to what we think we know about these teams.

Offenses struggle to attack Flores’ dynamic, pressure-filled system — especially how he hides pressure and traps teams by providing gaps that never really exist. This leads to confusion, frustration, and this year Minnesota has the manpower to use.

Everything is coming up roses for the start of the John Harbaugh era in East Rutherford. This team had raw talent on paper, but the veteran coach showed he could use it by controlling the Cowboys on both sides of the ball.

The story going forward will be more about how Jackson can continue to play darts and perhaps stay healthy. If both things happen, we could be looking at a very big season from the G-Men, who will make a lot of noise in the NFC East.

The Packers look and feel like a ship without a rudder. It’s felt like this team has been in the doldrums for a few years – but they haven’t done much to convince us they’re real contenders. Because of this, it looks like this team could be the Chargers of the NFC due to consistently high preseason praise, only to fall short when necessary.

Jordan Love was a problem against the Packers. He lost his composure during the Vikings’ comeback, and his decision-making took a big hit. Green Bay looked lost on offense as a result, and at some point there will need to be a better clutch element to the game.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-8)

It’s been a rough week for the Bucs, who weren’t necessarily there. BadBut they were not very good. Some of the lower-ranked teams simply fell into the ranks above them, which pushed them further than they should have.

Tampa is a better team offensively than they were against Cincinnati, and we expect them to be able to bounce back.

Los Angeles Chargers (-7) and Indianapolis Colts (-7)

The Chargers entered the season with high hopes (again), and they fell short (again). Losing to the Cardinals is the most embarrassing loss of the week, but Mike McDaniel was just blessed with some growing pains as offensive coordinator.

Meanwhile for Indianapolis, the Colts were a mess. Daniel Jones was bad under center, the receiving corps really seemed to lack Michael Pittman Jr., and the defense was simply stifling to the point where the Ravens could throw and run against them with impunity. There’s no shame in losing to Baltimore, but it’s a shame to get blown out by them.
