Jaxson Dart picked off Isaiah Likely for two touchdowns as the New York Giants beat the Dallas Cowboys 28-20.
Dart found Devin Singletary for another, Cam Skattebo ran for one in his first game back from injury as the Giants started their season with a win over the Cowboys on Sunday night in John Harbaugh’s coaching debut.
Dart finished 23 of 29 for 230 passing yards, plus 54 rushing. Likely had eight catches on eight targets for 78 yards in his New York debut after following Harbaugh from Baltimore.
No. 1 receiver Malik Nabers is back after recovering from a torn ACL in his right knee almost a year ago, and he had six catches for 69 yards.
Skattebo was also coming back from injury after breaking his right fibula and dislocating his right ankle. He rumbled for 81 yards on 18 carries and recreated his signature punt return celebration after running into the end zone untouched for the Giants’ first points of the season.
Dak Prescott threw an interception but completed 22 of 34 passes for 175 yards and connected for touchdowns with CeeDee Lamb and Javonte Williams, who also ran for a touchdown.
The Cowboys were plagued by penalties, eight of them for 85 yards, and their defense had a rough start to the season.
In a pregame ceremony, the Giants remembered the victims of 9/11 25 years later, and Harbaugh paid tribute on the sidelines as well. He wore an NYPD hat in the first half, then switched to an FDNY hat for the second.
