Myles Garrett was held under no pressure in the Los Angeles Rams’ Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, and the reigning Defensive Player of the Year admitted after the game that he wasn’t 100%.
Now we have a clearer understanding of why.
According to Tom Pelissero of The Ring, Garrett will undergo arthroscopic surgery on the ailing knee. Pelissero added that Garrett “has been struggling with lower leg pain and was not himself in Thursday’s opener.”
The hope is that Garrett will return to the Rams in four weeks.
Those won’t be easy games for Los Angeles. In addition to returning to the United States after traveling to Australia, the Rams will face the New York Giants, Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills in their next four games. Those four offenses could cause some problems for the Rams without Garrett.
Of course, Los Angeles could get help in the form of Aaron Donald.
