Mayton Perea reacts to UFC contract after stopping Zevan Hunt at DWCS
The fight moved at a frantic pace from the opening shift. Hunt (7-1) found himself in the early innings before Perea (9-3) picked himself up. The latter then received a big blow. Hunt looked for a leg, but Perea countered with a series of elbows and follow-up kicks to force the referee to stop.
The win marked Perea’s fourth in a row, earning a spot on the UFC roster after impressing the UFC CEO. Dana White. In his post-fight interview, he opened up about what it means to join a major mixed martial arts promotion.
“I’ve been waiting my whole life, I’ve shown it and I’ve worked so hard,” Perea said in his post-fight interview. “It’s unbelievable. It feels like a dream.”
