Lil Yachty has shot down rumors that are similar Ilya Dragunov has been cleared to leave WWE to accommodate celebrities like himself.
WWE has brought in several celebrities and made them regulars on WWE TV, for example Logan Paul and more recently, Yachty, releasing several of his wrestlers at the same time. The rapper and confidant of Trick Williams recently spoke out “Insight” where he said WWE fans are mean and accused him of holding the promotion back while talented stars like Dragunov were left out.
“I have (won fans) and I think it’s cool because bro, they’re down as f**k. And they’re still poor. And then they also assume that for some reason the wrestlers are getting cut to pay me. It’s not happening guys. They don’t cut wrestlers to pay my bills. I promise I don’t get that much money. I don’t want you to think that all these fantastic wrestlers are getting cut to pay my salary,” Yachty explained.
Yachty denied claims that WWE released wrestlers like Dragunov to make room for celebrities like himself. He dismissed the idea, insisting that WWE doesn’t cut wrestlers to pay its bills, before praising Dragunov and highlighting his talent.
“Continually I will see how (fans say) Hey, I have nothing to do with it, you know. By the way, Dragunov is an amazing wrestler. I told her that at Trick’s wedding “because I always saw her in the aisles and never said anything to her because she always looked so serious and aggressive.” But I told him at Trick’s. “Bro, you’re a fantastic worker, man.”
The musician, in particular, praised Dragunov’s matches with Carmelo Hayes, noting that he always enjoyed watching their wrestling.
