Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas didn’t have a catch in the team’s final two games before the Week 7 bye and was benched for the entire second half of the Week 6 loss to the Texans, prompting coach Liam Coen to say that “guys have to step up and make a show“If they want to be on the field.
On Monday, Cohen was asked on a conference call if Thomas will be out against the Colts in Jacksonville’s Week 8 home game. Coen said Thomas will have a chance to make an impact on offense.
“He will be able to help us put on a show this week” said Coen. “I bet, I know. We will continue to support him, put our arm around him and continue to do what we have to do to play on Sunday. We must continue to put him in the best position to do so. BT works on it. He cares about that, he cares about winning and losing, he cares about his team. We all want to see the boys succeed individually, but I’m excited to attack this week with BT.”
With weeks to go before the trade deadline and the Jaguars employing a deep group of receivers, there will likely continue to be chatter about Thomas being on the move before Nov. 10 as to whether or not he’ll be back on the stat sheet this week.
