November 6: Leicester City supporters have expressed their “dismay” that the club’s main sponsor has appointed a porn actress as an ambassador.
Earlier this week, online gambling operator BC Game appointed Eva Elfie as its brand ambassador. BC Game shared a video of Elfie and a delivery driver on social media, with the caption: “Welcome to BC Game Eva Elfie! Let the fun begin.”
The Foxes Trust slammed BC Game and Elfie: “Most Leicester City supporters will already know the dismay and displeasure of the trust having BC Game as our shirt sponsor.
“BC Game has now announced a new partnership with ‘international content creator and sports personality’ Eva Elfie… who happens to be an international porn star.
“From the moment the club decided to take on the sponsorship of a betting company, we felt that Leicester City was abandoning its values.
“Now throw into the mix that BC Game has entered into a partnership with someone who continues to make a name for himself through adult content.
“Both gambling and pornography can have devastating impacts on people’s lives, particularly young people.
“Partnerships like these bring those two worlds to a wider audience and by association link them to Leicester City. Is that who we are now?”
On Tuesday, BC Game said Elfie had an “established presence in gaming communities.” Chief executive Ali Muhanned said: “Eva has built an incredible relationship with the gaming and esports community through genuine passion and consistent content creation.”
Elfie has been mischievous in the past, serving as a brand ambassador for controversial Russian-Oxypriot bookmaker 1XBet, which has been banned in many jurisdictions and declared bankrupt by a Dutch court.
In the UK, BC Game is not accessible to users. A club spokesman said: “Leicester City Football Club acknowledges the concerns raised about recent developments involving our main partner, BC Game.
“We have raised these concerns directly with BC Game and are continuing discussions with the company to explore a mutually acceptable solution.”
