Leeds can go six points ahead of rivals Manchester United when the couple is in the Premier League at Elland Road.
Daniel Farke’s team enter the match in eighth position and have only lost once all season; while Michael Carrick’s visitors have won just once and start the day in 14th place.
United’s tally of six points is their lowest from six league games since Ron Atkinson’s 1986-87 (4), when he was sent in for Sir Alex Ferguson.
For the second successive season, the Red Devils have kept a clean sheet in their first six games, the first time they have kept a clean sheet in back-to-back campaigns since 1930-31 and 1931-32.
“They have made a huge investment in putting their squad together over a number of years and they have quality across the board,” Farke told the Today programme.
“We’re going into the game expecting nothing but a very tough game. We know what this game means to the fans. It means more. It’s a proper rivalry and we’re going to do everything we can to get a win.”
This is how the teams line up.
