Earlier this year, Keith Wilson was confirmed as a singles wrestler in WWE after his Pretty Deadly tag team partner Elton Prince suffered a serious injury. Wilson was soon paired with The Miz, which he claimed helped his progression in WWE.
“Miz has taught me many things. He taught me these lessons by telling me these lessons, teaching me these lessons, but also leading by example,” Wilson said in an interview.Battleground Podcast:“One of the biggest things he’s taught me is just to be ready at any time.”
According to Wilson, the couple had to accommodate last-minute changes to their booking because the pair were paired up. He also recalled how The Miz was planning to make an announcement at WrestleMania after they were not booked for the PLE by interrupting John Cena. “He caught me and said: You know, it wasn’t meant to be, I didn’t have any plans for WrestleMania, but The Miz makes things happen.”
Although it was probably less impromptu than Wilson implied, he and The Miz faced off against Cena and Dunnhausen at this year’s WWE WrestleMania 42. In the end, Cena and Dunnhausen got the better of the duo, and Wilson and Miz got the lowdown on Dunnhausen and his Mini-Hauzens.
Wilson has been less active on WWE’s main television shows in recent months, although he has still wrestled live and in the Main Event.
