Kevin Nash won the WWE Championship in 1995 during his run as Diesel, but not all fans were thrilled with his booking at the time. This was especially true of that year’s SummerSlam title match against King Mabel, which was topped off by a ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship between Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon (Scott Hall).
hisClick this” podcast, Nash answered a fan question by confirming that Mabel was the only opponent WWE had in mind for her SummerSlam appearance. However, she wishes she had met Bam Bam Bigelow instead.
“They built (Mabel) for that place,” the veteran said of the SummerSlam match. “(Bam Bam) was great. I could actually tear it down with Bam Bam. Yes, f**k yes. If only they used him better and made him a killer heel.
Nash has praised Bam Bam in the past admitting that The Beast From The East wasn’t Kliq’s biggest fan. In a previous episode of his podcast, he claimed that he and his fellow Kliq members often went to brawls for Bam Bam, despite the fact that he complained to Vince McMahon about them breaking kayfab in public by hanging out together on the road.
Bigelow died in 2007 at the age of 45 after a career that spanned from the 1980s to the 2000s and took her around the world working for various promotions including WWE, WCW and NJPW.
