The streak continues for the Steelers and Browns in Pittsburgh.
With both teams going into the contest at 5-2, Pittsburgh ran all over Cleveland to come away with a dominant 27-6 victory.
The Steelers took control of the game in the first half and never let it go, using a punishing running attack. The club had 160 yards on the ground in the first half, finishing with 201 yards per game.
On his 28th birthday, Jaylen Warren led the way with 143 yards on 17 carries with one touchdown — including a 51-yard run. Rico Dowdle was very effective, too, rushing for 56 yards on 15 carries.
Pat Freiermuth entered the game on the ground with a 1-yard touchdown run late in the first half.
Aaron Rodgers wasn’t asked to do much and didn’t need to, finishing the game 13 of 25 for 172 yards with one interception. The pick slipped right out of DK Metcalf’s hands before Denzel Ward came up with it.
Tight end Darnell Washington led the way with three catches for 94 yards.
For Cleveland, Deshaun Watson passed for over 300 yards for the second straight game. But he was largely stymied by Pittsburgh’s defense, which forced a fumble sack on him in the first quarter that led to a touchdown.
Watson finished the drive 27 of 39 for 324 yards. He was sacked eight times.
Harold Fannin led with 154 yards on 10 catches.
The Browns have yet to win a regular season game in Pittsburgh since 2003.
At 6-2, the Steelers will be happy in Week 9.
The 5-3 Browns will be on the road to face the Saints next Sunday.
