On Thursday, October 8th, Jalen visited the training room after requesting treatment for the calf. At the Rams game on Oct. 4, he notified the medical staff that he was shut down. This was his first post-game treatment for a calf injury after practicing all day Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, Jalen received treatment, fully practiced and was added to the practice report.
Out of an abundance of caution, the ultrasound was performed on Saturday after the team’s flight and walk to London. An ultrasound showed a superficial blood clot. Our medical staff and doctors in London reviewed the results and concluded that movement and mobility were important and that Jalen could play safely. Doctors recommend a follow-up ultrasound within 72 hours of the game and on the return flight to Philadelphia.
Jalen played without restriction in Sunday’s game, received treatment Monday and Tuesday and practiced all day Wednesday, according to his practice report. During our stay in London and this week we have been talking to the league office about the matter.
Wednesday night, a follow-up ultrasound showed movement in a small blood clot. Jalen will line up for Sunday’s game against the Panthers while we determine the appropriate course of treatment. His health and safety is our top priority.
