Having never seen the second round of UFC 331 in his career, Baraniewski came out all guns blazing looking to finish Menifield in the first round. However, Menifield weathered the early storm and began to gather momentum in the second lap. “Atomic” made it through the third round, fighting off an injured thumb to earn a split decision victory.
It was Baraniewski’s first professional loss. But the 27-year-old says it’s not the first time he’s experienced failure. “Rudy” wants to take some time to recover and promises to come back stronger.
“My first professional loss, but not the first in my life,” Baraniewski wrote on Instagram. “I will rest for a moment and come back stronger. Thank you to everyone who supports me and stands by me.”
