Islam Makhachev Open To Conor McGregor Boxing Match ‘Regardless Of Purse’

Islam Makhachov is interested in a boxing match with Team Khabib’s rival Conor McGregor and he really doesn’t care how much he gets paid.

Having worked tirelessly over the past five years to become a two-division UFC champion and the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet, Makhachov has grown in confidence in all of his skills. This includes his world-class grappling and submission game, as well as his promising striking.

The reigning UFC welterweight champion has improved significantly over the years and would be willing to put his striking to the test against the UFC’s best. Although McGregor is certainly past his prime and just suffered a brutal injury in his comeback fight at UFC 329, “The Notorious” is still considered one of the best boxers in mixed martial arts (MMA).

Remember, he went 10 rounds with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2017 and scored some of the most famous knockouts in UFC history.

In a recent interview with Ushatayka, Makhachov revealed that he would be willing to face McGregor in a boxing ring to prove that the Notorious is more than a one-round fighter. In fact, Makhachov is so confident that he doesn’t even need to be paid that much to fight McGregor.

“Yes, maybe he is dangerous in the first round, but after that he has no chance,” Makhachov said in an interview earlier this week. “Honestly, whatever wallet I would pack (Conor) with.”
