Since Topuria is the biggest star in sports history, and perhaps world historythat billing would force current lightweight champion Justin Gaethje into the main event. Unfortunately, that’s the price you pay when you’re a “nobody” with no say in any major decision.
“He has absolutely no say in anything,” Topuria, 29, said Alvaro Colmenero (via ABC.es). “He doesn’t call any punches. It’s between the UFC and me. Whatever we decide, whatever’s best for us, Justin’s going to do it. Justin’s nobody. Imagine if I fight Paddy, even as a champion, Justin should be in the main event. Who could you compare him to that would be bigger than me fighting Paddy?”
Topuria was equally flattering in his assessment of Pimblett, stating that “The Baddy” is just…bad.
“I’ll eat him like the sausage he is,” continued Topuria (17-1). “With that head, just punch him and you’ll hit him. He’s someone you can dominate. You can dominate him comfortably. He’s got a sausage body and he thinks being big gives him an advantage. What are you going to do? Fight my legs? He’s not like Justin. Justin’s a dog. Paddy sleeps absolutely nothing. Paddy puts nothing on. Paddy doesn’t sleep. Paddy doesn’t perform anything he does.
