Sebastian Fundora successfully defended his WBC light middleweight title last night (Saturday 17 October 2026) defeating a very competitive opponent. Ermal Hadribaj…and he did it in super dramatic fashion.
Indeed, “The Towering Inferno” delivered a literal last-second knockout over the Albanian, stopping him with a rocket of a left hand with just one second remaining in the 12-round 154-pound title fight in Las Vegas, Nevada. In doing so, he becomes the first man to ever defeat Hadribeaj.
Check out some of the highlights below.
With the win, Fundora improves his streak to five in a row, which includes four successful title defenses, and moves him closer to a potential big fight Jaron “Boots” Ennis in his next match. Ennis is the current WBA and WBO light middleweight champion, so a win for either man would put them one step closer to becoming the undisputed champion.
Vergil Ortiz is the interim WBC title holder, while Josh Kelly is the current IBF champion. Speaking of which, Kelly may be the only one to stop Fundora for the next boot fight, as the two men are rumored to go down in a fight later in the year. That means “The Towering Inferno” could get very complicated after last night’s dramatic ending.
