The Hawks moved forward Keyshawn Bryant in order to sign the guard Lamont Butlerin a team press release.
Although the terms of Butler’s deal were not disclosed, he almost certainly signed Exhibition 10 contract to earn a bonus of up to $91,000 per game for Atlanta’s G League affiliate, the College Park Skyhawks. This bonus would be in addition to his regular NBAGL salary.
Butler, a 6-foot-2 guard who played four years at San Diego State and one at Kentucky before going undrafted in 2025, signed an Exhibit 10 deal with Atlanta last fall and was waived until the start of the 2025-26 season. However, he never suited up for College Park as he was deactivated prior to the start of the NBAGL season.
In his final collegiate season with Kentucky in 2024-25, Butler averaged 11.4 points, 4.3 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 26.0 minutes per game in 27 appearances. His shooting range was .498/.391/.735.
Bryant, a three-year veteran of the G League, was just signed on Wednesday. Butler could also be waived in the near future, but for now the Hawks are at the offseason limit of 21 players under contract.
