Behind his terrifying on-screen persona, Bray Wyatt (real name Wyndham Rotunda) seemed to bring joy to all who met him. This includes former WWE star Dexter Loomis, who initially met the late wrestler at a Florida Championship Wrestling tryout in 2009.
“I think he had a few matches at that point,” Loomis said “Insight with Chris Van Vliet” when asked about her relationship with Wyatt. “Him and Wes Briscoe, I remember those guys taking care of me when I was there. I was the only one on this test, and it’s at that warehouse in Tampa. I remember one day I was just finishing practice and I’m just changing and taking off my knee pads and my shoes and they pull up a chair right next to me and they start asking me questions like they want to start me ***. I start asking them questions, we kind of built a unique company right out of the gate, I just knew I’d see these guys, no matter what, we were going to have our successes.
After a tryout, Loomis appeared as an extra for WWE on numerous occasions in the following years. During those opportunities, Loomis recalled meeting Wyatt one more time, when the third-generation star regularly offered him friendly hugs and greetings. Wyatt even went so far as to throw in potential ideas in case he and Loomis ever worked together in the company.
Unfortunately, Loomis and Wyatt never got to wrestle each other like they did the latter, unfortunately, died in August 2023. Loomis, however, later served as a member Wyatt patientsa mystical faction that was meant to honor the former WWE Champion.
