Former WWE star Shotzy Blackheart hit the ground running with the independent scene following him release from the company in May last yearand now the star has found a new home in TNA. Following his signing and debut on TNA IMPACT; Blackheart appeared in “Destroyed open radioto discuss his journey after WWE. He commented on how important it was for him to step out of his comfort zone in India.
“That’s why my first match back in the Indies was a death match against the GCW death match champion,” Blackheart explained. “It was my first game back in India. I went through the glass. I was bleeding all over the place because I wanted a huge WWE contrast, and then like show everybody. “Hey, yeah, I’m here to rock and roll. You see a different side of me. I’m not used to it anymore. I have been unleashed.”
Original ECW bully Rey jokingly asked Blackheart if he would have a deathmatch with him if he came out of retirement. The star retired along with his longtime tag team partnerD-Von Dudley following their match against the Hardys at TNA Bound for Glory 2025. Blackheart said he would definitely face him, even if the WWE Hall of Famer lit the table on fire and powerbombed him right through it.
“Let’s go, let’s retire.” Blackheart exclaimed. “I would like that. Please let’s go. Honestly, it would be an honor. I’ve never made a fire scene.”
