PSG finally got their first La Liga win of the season, but it came in dramatic and controversial fashion at the CEPAC Velodrome, where substitute Ferran Torres broke the deadlock in the 66th minute before Marquinhos won it just two minutes after Marseille had equalised.
Torres headed home a Desire Doue cross to put the visitors ahead, only for Angel Gomes to equalize with a low finish from Amine Gouiri’s pass.
Marquinhos restored PSG’s lead almost immediately, reacting quicker to a Nuno Mendes delivery.
Timothy Weah was sent off in Marseille in the afternoon to compound a miserable afternoon. Jeffrey De Lange was outstanding in goal for the hosts and kept PSG’s 31-shot barrage at bay for as long as he could.
Juventus 2-0 Atalanta
Luciano Spalletti’s Juventus bounced back from two games without a win by beating Maurizio Sarri’s Atalanta 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium.
Francisco Conceicao broke the deadlock in the 28th minute with a cross from Zeki Celik, and Bremer added a second after the break in a second half where the home side made 11 of their 14 attempts.
AC Milan – Lecce 3-0
The San Siro celebrated its centenary with a night to remember as Ruben Amorim’s Milan ended a four-game winless streak.
Pulisic opened the scoring before Rabiot, combining powerfully with Goncalo Ramos, made it two in the 62nd minute.
Moreira came on to add a third with 16 minutes remaining, amid protests from Lecce over a challenge in the build-up. Maignan made a fine late save to preserve the clean sheet.
Fiorentina – Naples 1-1
Billy Gilmour gave Napoli the lead at half-time with a volley from a corner, but Fiorentina equalized six minutes into the second half through Alex Jimenez, whose speculative effort curled cruelly past the keeper.
The Viola hit the woodwork twice in the first half and Mathias Olivera hit the post for Napoli in a game both managers will feel they let slip.
Villarreal 2-3 Real Sociedad
A five-goal thriller at the Estadio de la Ceràmica ended in Real Sociedad’s favor as the Basques came from behind to claim all three points in a result that keeps them well atop the La Liga table.
