Ever since the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble when Drew McIntyre insulted CM Punk, their on-screen rivalry has gotten more and more personal. Feud between McIntyre and Punk led to heated exchanges in the Strap Match and a bloody Hell in a Cell match.
According to Bradley Martin during McIntyre’s interview, “RAWTALK PODCAST:“The affection between them is very real.
“He’s a piece of crap,” McIntyre said flatly. I avoid him whenever I can.” He went on to point out that Punk has had several feuds with fans over the years, using it to prove that his rival isn’t really a good person.
“He is trying to play. now he’s different, he hides it better now than he used to, like before when everyone couldn’t stand him, he was so full of himself,” McIntyre recalled, recalling Punk’s WWE exit and how he felt it was a disrespectful move for WWE after promoting him for years. Despite his feelings, McIntyre insists he doesn’t let it get in the way of putting on a good show for the fans. “I can be a professional. I am very good at my job. You gather us, you don’t need to find the real thing in it. like, he doesn’t love me, I can’t stand him, you bring us together, it’s magic for the audience.”
Drew McIntyre continued to open up about his disdain for CM Punk
Drew McIntyre is an additional claim he could beat CM Punk in a legitimate fight laughing The infamous “Second City Saints” experiment establishing himself as an MMA fighter after WWE. “I’ll beat you up. I’m a giant and I’m Scottish. Do you know how many fights I’ve fought?” he asked laughing. “I can’t stand him. He’s a real idiot who hides it well these days.”
McIntyre opined that Punk has burned bridges everywhere and WWE is his last chance to continue wrestling, which is why he’s playing with the corporate side of the promotion and being nice.
“Behind those eyes, he’s crying because he wants to be nonstop, very much like Charles Manson,” McIntyre said. “Just talking to the audience, convincing them he’s such a good guy, they buy his BS.”
All of the love that Punk continues to receive from the audience rubs McIntyre the wrong way, but still admits that his rival has a legitimate love for pro wrestling, unlike some other wrestlers who enter the industry today after first building a previous career or looking to use WWE to jump into Hollywood.
