Deshaun Watson Wins Cleveland Browns QB Job By Default Even After A A scary training camp full of hacks and a Warriors preseason press conference When he punished the home fans by shouting. Expectations are pretty low for both Watson and the Browns entering the season, especially with a tough Week 1 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road. Watson needed a really strong start to make some positive gains, and big surprise, that didn’t happen.
On the Browns’ first offensive possession of the season, Watson threw an absolutely brutal interception right into the waiting arms of Jaguars linebacker Foyesade Olukuku. Some interventions are excusable, but not this one. How did Watson not see Oluoku hiding to break the path? For Watson, a bad decision and a bad throw was not the way he wanted to start the season.
Watch Watson’s hack here:
Watson’s interception came in his fifth game of the season for the Browns. I feel bad for Cleveland fans if this is what they have to sit through all year. It’s not too early to look ahead to the 2027 NFL Draft, Browns fans.
In fact, Watson feels like he doesn’t even deserve to be in the league anymore. He’s definitely not a starting caliber quarterback. It’s going to be a long season for the Browns.
