Welcome to Midnight Mania!
We’re kicking off the night with a look back at the three biggest stories from Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
- Rookie Report Card: A UFC Vegas 121 Post-Mortem Evaluation of the Octagon’s Exclusive Rookie: I have no idea if Luis Hernandez is any good because hitting Sedriques Dumas means nothing.
- Payton Talbott vs. Sean O’Malley? UFC 332 headliner Talbott explains how the broken leg plague sidelined him: While I think Sean O’Malley would be a tough matchup for Talbott – one of his worst, I also don’t think “Suga” would ever fight an unrated opponent.
- Jake Paul sued for $10 million over execution of brain-damaged boxer, MVP responds: The whole Heather Hardy situation is sad, but I don’t expect this lawsuit to go anywhere.
Insomnia
Based on Dana White’s recent focus on boxing (and even Power Slap) over MMA, it’s hard to buy. A complete win for Eddie Hearn?
UFC legends meet for another viewing:
“Mass fight at a baby shower” is a very funny set of words.
I love Jiri Prochazka, but maybe that energy could be better spent learning the samurai method to avoid the left hook?
Sean Strickland vs. Nassourdine Imavov is almost confirmed. Who will DDP and Khamzat be fighting in the meantime?
Alexandre Pantoja also needs to be bumped up because of his steel midsection.
Does anyone reading this remember Mac Danzig? There was an understated entry in his career.
Slips, rips and KO clips
It takes guts or stupidity to fight a GLORY champion in a regional arena without the money and glory (pun intended).
D’arce is a great counter to the hook used in any MMA fight that involves grappling.
I am reminded of the knockout of Nick Denis in his UFC debut many years ago.
Random land
After last week’s new cat appearance, a new penguin species has now been discovered!
