Fury and Joshua will meet on December 11 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, with the match streaming on Netflix. The streaming juggernaut announced the bout as a collaboration between Turki Aalshikhi and White’s Zuffa Boxing. Looks like Joshua’s camp and Eddie Hearn aren’t on board.
Dana White disputes Max Kellerman’s description of his role in Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua
Kellerman stated on Zuffa Boxing 11 that White is not involved as a promoter, but rather to assist Aalshikh.
“People know that Dana White is only in the fight to assist Turki Aalshikh, who has been the engine of almost every major boxing fight over the last few years,” Kellerman said. “He’s helping Turk personally, not as a promoter.”
White was then asked about Kellerman’s comments and
Ultimate Fighting Championship The CEO revealed that he had no idea what the analyst-commentator was talking about.
“I don’t know where it came from,” White said. “It was weird. We’re promoting the fight right now. I’ve said it 150,000 times, I don’t know if I’ve ever known anybody more of a piece of shit than Eddie Hearn.”
Hearn has previously insisted that White should not be involved in the fight, while the Netflix announcement identified the UFC boss as a key part of the event. The Fury-Joshua press conference is expected to take place on Wednesday, September 30, although White has not indicated whether he plans to attend.
“I think I’ll keep it a surprise,” White said.
