Dalana Benton is heading to China for his first international contract as he has signed with Shandong Hi-Speed Kirin, according to CHN Hoops via Instagram (tip to Dario Skerletić from Sportando).
After a career-high 67 games with the Trail Blazers in 2024-25, in which he averaged 8.3 points and 3.4 assists in 16.7 minutes per game, Benton played just six NBA games last season, four with the Celtics and two with the Clippers.
The 6-foot-8 guard, 26, played most of the year for the Texas Legends, the Mavericks’ G League affiliate. He averaged 24.9 points and 6.9 assists in 44 games for the Legends.
Skerletsik informs that Banton had interest from several Euroleague teams, including Olympiakos, Beşiktaş and an unnamed Spanish team, as potentially interested teams before he decided to spend the season in China.
Last season, Shandong recruited several former NBA players, namely the former No. 8 overall pick Marquis Chris and Keyonta Johnson.
