September 10 – Concacaf has confirmed the W Championship 2026 schedule, with tickets on sale for a tournament featuring eight of the region’s top nations.
From November 27 to December 5, the event is split between Texas Health Mansfield Stadium in Mansfield, Texas, and Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, Texas.
With two games on each day of the tournament, each ticket covers both games on the chosen day, including the third-place and final doubleheader in Houston on December 5.
Eight teams count: the United States and Canada as the region’s top seeds, plus Costa Rica, El Salvador, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico and Panama through the qualifiers.
The quarterfinals will be played over two days, starting on Friday, November 27 with Jamaica vs. Costa Rica and the United States vs. El Salvador, followed by Canada vs. Panama and Mexico vs. Haiti on Saturday. The rankings were established by the April 2026 FIFA rankings.
What makes this important is what happens in it. The four winners of the quarter-finals advance to the semi-finals on 1 December and automatically qualify for the World Cup in Brazil 2027. The four losers fall into a play-in for two places in the World Cup play-off tournament. Thus, all sides arrive with a direct route to Brazil in play.
There is also an Olympic dimension. The two finalists and the third-place team reserve spots for the 2028 LA Games. Since the U.S. is already the host, a top-three U.S. finish would give that final Olympic spot to the fourth-place finisher.
The United States enter as the defending champions, having beaten Canada 1-0 in the 2022 final in Monterrey. Coverage includes CBS Sports Golazo and Paramount+ in English, TelevisaUnivision in Spanish and other regional partners.
