Dana White Candidate Series earlier this month. Curtis claims he called UFC matchmakers immediately afterward asking for a fight against a Miami-Dade sheriff’s deputy.
However, matchmakers reportedly told Curtis that Hernandez was still too green to fight him. Hernandez then completed a 10-day turnaround for his UFC debut and submitted Cedric Dumas with two days’ notice at
UFC Vegas 121. Curtis claims he called matchmakers again about a fight against Hernandez, but was turned down a second time.
Still, “The Action Man” is willing to wait until suitors find Hernandez ready to fight him. Hernandez’s teammate reportedly told Curtis that “The Stache” wanted to settle their feud. But Curtis says he’s too petty to let the beef go.
“I’m petty as hell,” Curtis said on Instagram. “The moment Luis Hernandez signs with the UFC, I’m going to send a message to the suitors. The response from both of them was, ‘He’s not ready yet. He has no fights; he’s not ready yet.” Last night he gets his win; I immediately texted the matchmakers. And I get a reply: “He’s still not ready. He’s not on your level. So, I can’t fight him now; I’ve tried… But I want him to do well; I want him to get a few wins. Because the moment he gets a few wins, unless he’s brand new to the UFC, I’m going to fight him. I’ve been circling this man like a shark in water… I’m packing this man up like a cheap suitcase. I can’t wait… I ran into one of his boys the other day; he says, “Oh, (Hernandez) wants to break the beef.” I told him I would hit his head like a grape if I saw him. There is no forgiveness, there is no letting go… I will strangle you and drown you like a bag of unwanted puppies.
