Chicago Bears @ Seattle Seahawks preview
The Seattle Seahawks will look to return to winning ways when they welcome the Chicago bones at Lumen Field for Monday Night Football in Week 8 of 2026 NFL season
Mike Macdonald’s team limited Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs to just three points, with the defending Super Bowl champions keeping their opponents from reaching the red zone all game long.
The 20-3 win improved Seattle’s record to 4-3 and provided an impressive response to their earlier inconsistencies.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba was again key to their success, recording nine receptions for 150 yards and a touchdown.
Quarterback Sam Darnold has thrown eight touchdowns and eight interceptions this season, and turnovers have proven especially costly when Seattle has been forced into obvious passing situations.
However, the Seahawks have been excellent defensively, ranking among the top teams in the league against both the run and the pass.
Seattle leads the NFL in yards allowed per play with just 3.99, while its secondary has allowed an average of just 153.6 yards per game.
The Seahawks have also limited opponents to 3.48 yards per rushing attempt, second best in the league.
This defensive force will face a major test against a Chicago team that has developed one of the NFL’s most productive offenses under head coach Ben Johnson.
The Bears have won five of their first seven games and come to Seattle on the back of a 30-24 win over New England.
Quarterback Caleb Williams impressed against the Patriots, throwing for 308 yards and two touchdowns as Chicago posted another big result in its pursuit of the NFC North title.
