While Cody Rhodes may no longer be the hottie he once was, WWE legend Bully Ray said he should be worried about the fans’ reaction.
Ray analyzed the latest “WWE SmackDown” where he pointed out how the fans gasped when Randy Orton said Rhodes was a good man. He feels that while fans aren’t making fun of “American Nightmare,” they aren’t fully on board with Rhodes’ band.
“You didn’t hear final groans, you heard groans,” Ray began.Destroyed gap(When Orton said) He’s a good husband. he is a good father; he’s a good friend (the response from the crowd was “Ugh”). The people are at the point where they say: They moan about all the positive things Randy Orton says about Cody Rhodes because they don’t want to hear about a good friend or a good father, a good husband. They want to hear about a guy who is on a mission to kick people in the head and win championships, and will stop at absolutely nothing to get there. Cody Rhodes paused. He hesitated at the moment of truth that the Marine would be dead on the battlefield.”
Rey thinks Rhodes should be worried about the crowd’s reaction, but he had a few suggestions on how WWE and Rhodes can fix the situation.
“If I’m Cody Rhodes, I’m concerned now,” he said. “On SmackDown, I think they advertised next week’s sit-down with Michael Cole. Now I assume it will be pre-taped. Maybe it’s an animal in the middle of the ring. But they need to have some verbal ammunition to get people back on Cody’s side. And after what I heard from the fans this past week on SmackDown, I’m not so sure that’s possible.”
He believes that the problem with Rhodes and why fans turn their backs on him is that he is lustful. He feels the groans suggest the fans are no longer interested in him, but he cautioned that any babyface in Rhodes’ position would get groans from the audience.
