Rams offensive tackle Alaric Jackson had his reduced suspension in an appeal game on Wednesday. He will be on unpaid leave Sunday when the Rams play the Cardinals.
Bills pass rusher Bradley Chubb, who hit Jackson after the game Monday night, said he learned a valuable lesson from the incident.
“Me personally, I have learned that I will either have my hands up or wear a helmet,” Chubb said, via ESPN’s Nick Suss.
Chubb admitted he started the conversation between the two men after the Bills’ 37-34 overtime win.
“I’ll tell you exactly what I said,” Chubb said at the practice facility on the campus of UC Irvine, where the Bills are practicing this week. “I heard I was talking about his mother. That’s not true at all. I said, ‘We’ll see your ass again, and when we see you again, all that scruff won’t save you. That tight end and guard won’t save you.’ He said, “What did you say?” I said, ‘That chip won’t save you. The guard will not save you.’ And then boom.”
Chubb, who has not heard from Jackson since the punch, said he was proud that he did not retaliate and receive a suspension of his own.
If the teams play again this season, it will be in the Super Bowl again at SoFi Stadium in February.
