The light heavyweight contender is in for a tough challenge when he meets Whittaker
UFC Sydney co-main event. Guskov (18-4-1) will face Whittaker (27-9) on February 7, 2027 at the Afterpay Arena in Sydney, Australia.
Speaking to Red Corner MMA, Guskov stressed the importance of having alternatives if his initial strategy fails.
“Well, he’s a former champion. There are several keys, but which one actually works will be revealed in the Octagon,” Guskov said. “I have several tricks. It’s not just one trick I use. Nothing might work.”
Guskov acknowledged that Whittaker’s experience and ability make him a difficult opponent to prepare for.
“So what do I do next? I don’t have to do things. So messed up. We have enough time to prepare. So we have at least three or four keys (to victory). Either way, Robert is not just any guy off the street. He’s preparing things and I don’t know how he’s going to fight.”
Bogdan Guskov reacts to his recently announced bout with former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker at UFC Fight Night Sydney on February 7, promising to put on another spectacular show. “Of course I’m trying to put on a spectacular show. Spectacular fights are what they love me for. I’m chasing the KO,” he told Red Corner MMA.
