Biggest Winners, Losers From UFC Vegas 124

UFC Vegas 124 went down last night (Saturday, November 7, 2026) at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, which saw Johnny Walker score an upset win Waldo Cortes-Acostaknocks him out in the third round (see it again here). At the joint main event Tatjana Savez defeated Stack Jandiroba in a pivotal women’s strawweight affair.

Biggest Winner: Johnny Walker

Walker continues his onslaught against the 265-pound division securing his second straight stoppage victory because he decided to move up from light heavyweight. By defeating the #8 ranked fighter in the Cortes-Acosta division, Walker can hope to break into the Top 10 with just two fights to go, putting him in a great position to break into the Top 5 and make a case for the title with a few more wins to go. Because let’s face it, the heavyweight division could use as many stars and legitimate title contenders as it can get, so Walker is proving more than he can get right into the mix. He’s really found his weight class – though he could use some further beefing up his offensive attack – and now we’re waiting on the edge of our collective seats to see who the promotion pairs him with next.

Runners-up: Elijah Smith and Tatiana Suarez

Smith secured the biggest win of his UFC career to date by being the first man to stop Davey Grant via punches, ending the fight in just 90 seconds (see it here). It’s now nine wins in a row for “Swift,” four inside the Octagon, giving him even more confidence as his UFC career progresses. To make his night a little sweeter, he went away a $100,000 post-fight bonus. As for Suarez, he continues his march towards another title fight after dominating Jandiroba en route to a unanimous decision win. Suarez failed to win his first bid for the 115-pound title Zhang Weibut he’s reeled off three straight wins since then, and taking out the No. 2 fighter in the weight class is key to his goal of getting back into title contention, which could very well be next, depending on which division the aforementioned Zhang Weil decides to compete in next.

Biggest Losers: Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Priscila Cachoeira

Things took a turn for the worse for Cortes-Acosta after stopping Walkeras he has lost three straight since starting his UFC career on a 10-2 run. To make matters worse, this is the first time “Salsa Boy” has been stopped in a fight. His slide is more than enough to bounce him out of the top 10, and his pursuit of the title is drifting further and further away. Now he has to go back to the drawing board to fix his ship before he digs himself a hole so deep he can’t climb out. As for Cachoeira, it’s safe to say that we’ve seen the last of him in the Octagon since he suffered his fourth straight loss thanks to Nina Milosevic jiu-jitsu skills (see it here). He has been suspended twice in three races, which is not a good look. He falls to 1-6 in his last seven fights and 5-10 overall in the Octagon, which just isn’t good enough to justify staying on a bloated roster.
